Sciatica Treatment in Stuart & Port St. Lucie, FL

Treat the nerve irritation, not just the pain it creates

Sciatica treatment works best when it targets the actual source of the nerve irritation rather than chasing the pain down your leg. Our care team pairs spinal decompression, regenerative therapy, and precise chiropractic care to take pressure off the nerve and keep it off. In most cases patients feel a difference on the very first visit.

9 out of 10 patients notice a change on day one, and you will leave your first visit with a clear, honest plan for the weeks ahead.

You just want to sit through dinner

Sciatica can make sitting feel impossible.

The seat you shift in for twenty minutes. The leg that goes numb somewhere around the fourth hole. The night you spent hunting for the one position that let the calf settle down. Sciatica has a way of narrowing your day quietly, one avoided activity at a time, until "I will rest it" has stretched into a season.

Stretching and pain medication can quiet a flare. They rarely address what is crowding the nerve. We take the other route: find where the pressure is coming from, then treat that directly.

First, the reassuring part

Most sciatica settles down with the right plan.

Sciatica is a symptom, not a diagnosis. In the large majority of cases it comes from a mechanical problem irritating a nerve root in the low back, most often a disc under load or a stiff, inflamed joint narrowing the space the nerve travels through. That kind of irritation tends to respond well to focused, non-surgical care, which is why we lead with a careful exam instead of a scan and a shrug.

A small share of leg pain needs medical attention first. We would rather you know the signs than wonder.

When to seek urgent care first

  • New numbness in the groin or saddle area
  • Loss of bladder or bowel control
  • Progressive weakness, or a foot that catches when you walk
  • Pain in both legs at once, with numbness
  • Leg pain after a serious fall or accident
  • Pain with fever or unexplained weight loss

If any of these are happening, contact a medical provider or emergency care right away. When you are ready for sciatic pain that is not an emergency, we are here.

WE GET WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH

Which sciatica is yours?

"Sciatica" covers several different sources of nerve irritation, and the right approach depends on which one is yours. You do not need to work this out yourself. Seeing which of these patterns sounds familiar is a good start, and it is exactly what your exam will confirm.

"Numbness and tingling all the way into my foot."

Often: the nerve root is irritated enough to affect sensation, not just send pain. This is the pattern we want to see early rather than late.

What we'd likely reach for: decompression to take pressure off the root, laser to settle the inflammation, and a careful re-check of your sensation as you go.

"A deep ache in the buttock, worst when I drive."

Often: the nerve is being irritated further down its path, where it passes through tight, guarded muscle deep in the hip rather than at the spine itself.

What we'd likely reach for: soft-tissue work and dry needling to release the muscle, with SoftWave on the irritated tissue.

"Walking sets it off. Leaning on the cart helps."

Often: the space the nerve passes through has narrowed, so standing and walking upright crowd it while bending forward opens it back up.

What we'd likely reach for: precise chiropractic care to restore movement, Class IV laser to calm inflammation, and rehab to hold the gains.

"Sitting makes it worse. Standing up helps."

Often: a disc is taking more load than it should and pressing on the nerve root behind it. Sitting increases that load, which is why the car and the dinner table are the hard part.

What we'd likely reach for: gentle spinal decompression to unload the disc, with SoftWave to support tissue repair.

Not sure which one is you?

That is exactly what the first visit is for. No pressure, no commitment beyond finding out what is going on.

Regenerative care treatments

For years this level of care was out of reach for most people. Not anymore.

Taking pressure off an irritated nerve, calming the tissue around it, and rebuilding the support that keeps it off used to mean three separate offices. Today that coordinated approach is available right here on the Treasure Coast, delivered by one team working from one plan built around your specific goal.

Why patients choose us for sciatica

One team, treating the nerve and the cause together.

A lot of sciatica journeys mean juggling a chiropractor, a massage therapist, and a physical therapist across three offices that never compare notes. Here it is one team, one plan, one place. We start with your goal and combine what your case actually needs, then adjust as the leg quiets down.

Care led by a SoftWave trainer

Dr. Kianoosh Ziayan, DC ("Dr. Z") is an internationally certified SoftWave trainer who teaches other doctors how to use it. The protocols he teaches are the ones our team delivers.

Built around a busy calendar

Visits run around ten minutes, most patients wait under five, and we hold same-week openings at both offices. Getting this sorted out should not cost you your week.

Honest about your plan

You get transparent pricing on day one and an honest read on what to expect. It is healthcare, so nothing is promised. We tell you what we see and adjust the plan as you improve.

Most cases are a mix of these rather than just one. That is the point of the exam: we sort out which structures are irritating the nerve and build the plan around the real cause, not the loudest symptom.

What to expect

9 in 10 patients notice an improvement at the first visit.

You are never guessing what comes next. Here is how your sciatica plan takes shape.

We learn your goal

A case manager sits with you to understand what the leg pain is stopping you from doing, whether that is driving to see family, walking the course, or sleeping through the night.

2

The doctor examines you

A thorough orthopedic exam checks movement, reflexes, and sensation to work out where the nerve is being irritated, so your plan targets that level rather than the whole leg.

You start the same day

Where it is appropriate, treatment begins on visit one, so you leave having already taken pressure off the nerve rather than holding a referral.

We build the plan, then keep tuning it

Common questions

Have questions? We have answers.

Many patients notice a change in the first week or two, and in most cases the leg pain retreats toward the back before it goes quiet, which is a good sign. Longer-standing cases with numbness usually take more time. Your doctor will give you an honest read at the exam rather than a number picked off a chart.

Not necessarily. A thorough orthopedic exam tells us a great deal about which nerve root is involved and what is irritating it. If imaging would change your plan, or something in the exam warrants it, we will say so and help you get it. We do not order scans just to order them.

Most patients describe it as a slow, gentle stretch, and a fair number find it relaxing enough that they close their eyes. You stay clothed and the table does the work. If anything is uncomfortable, your provider adjusts it on the spot.

It can, particularly if the mechanics that caused it go unaddressed. That is exactly why the plan includes a corrective-exercise program rather than ending when the pain does. We cannot promise it never returns, but building back the support around that segment is the best protection we know of.

Most sciatica improves with conservative, non-surgical care, and that is our focus. We are honest at your exam about what we see, and if your case genuinely calls for a surgical opinion we will tell you and help you find the right person. Our job is to give non-surgical care a real, well-run chance first.
