Dry Needling & Acupuncture
Dry needling helps release stubborn muscle tension.
Dry needling targets the trigger point directly, the tight band inside a muscle that keeps referring pain somewhere else. Nothing is injected. For patients whose real problem is damaged tissue rather than a guarded muscle, we will tell you honestly that SoftWave is the stronger tool.
Why dry needling
Dry needling targets the exact spot causing the issue.
A trigger point is a small, contracted band of muscle fiber that has run out of the local blood supply it needs to let go. Stretching rarely reaches it. A thin needle placed into that exact band gives it a reason to release, which is why relief often shows up in the spot the pain was radiating to, not just where the needle went.
Treat the trigger point, and the muscle can start to let go.
Finds the exact trigger point
Your doctor palpates for the taut band and the tender spot inside it. Placement is the whole game here, because a needle two centimeters off does very little.
Triggers the twitch and release
A brief involuntary twitch is the contracted fibers letting go. It feels strange for a second, and it is the response we are looking for.
Restores blood flow to starved fibers
A knot that has been clamped down has been choking off its own circulation. Once it releases, oxygen and nutrients reach fibers that have been running on empty.
Quiets the referred-pain loop
Trigger points send pain to predictable places, which is why a knot in your shoulder blade can be felt down your arm. Releasing the source usually quiets the destination.
Opens a window for the real work
A released muscle stops fighting the adjustment and lets you move through the range your rehab exercises need. Needling clears the path; it is not the destination.

Common questions
The honest answers.
No. Dry needling is a Western, anatomy-based technique aimed at a specific trigger point in a muscle. Acupuncture follows traditional meridian points. We offer acupuncture at $60 for patients who request it, but dry needling is what we lead with clinically.
The needle itself is thinner than what is used for a shot and most patients barely feel it go in. What you may feel is a deep ache or a quick twitch when the trigger point releases. Some soreness the next day is normal.
Often a handful, because needling is used to unlock a muscle rather than to rebuild tissue over time. If you are still needing it repeatedly for the same spot, that is usually a sign the underlying tissue needs SoftWave or a rehab plan instead.
We accept Medicare and PIP, and offer financing including 0% options for qualified patients. Coverage varies by plan, which is part of why we keep pricing transparent.
Because they solve different problems. Needling releases a muscle that is clamped down. SoftWave prompts the body to repair tendon, ligament, and joint tissue that is actually damaged. When your exam points to the second one, we would rather tell you that than sell you the first.
